Problem : FSMO – The requested fsmo operation failed.The current fsmo holder could not be contacted
I have a single domain … I added a bdc and transfered the RID (FSMO) using the operation master master but the new server crashed soon after that and now the I have no I get the ERROR in the operations Master field unde RID and there is no other server that I can do a transfer from or seize the FSMO (RID) from … can some please tell me how to recreate this or how to fix this problem. All the other suggestions I have read implies seizing from another DC but this is not possible as there is no DC with that holds the current FSMO….. Please HELP

If the other server crashed unrecoverably, you will have to seize (you can’t transfer it anymore) the role from a surviving DC.
