Problem : Unable to register Framework, Program will now exit.
I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 Terminal Server that I keep getting an error that pops up. It says Event Notification Application – Unable to register with Framework, Program will now exit. Nothing logs in the event log and no apps seem to close. Unfortunately we are having issues with the servers and I need to resolve every issue that pops up. I thought it may have something to do with .NET so I followed Microsoft’s advice and uninstalled all .NET framework versions and reinstalled them and all updates. That didn’t solve it. Any advice would help greatly.

I was finally able to ge this resolved myself. There was an entry in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run that was causing the popup.
