Problem : Windows Server 2008 stuck on “Please wait for the group policy client”
I have a 2008 server that is stuck on boot at the “Please wait for the group policy client” screen. This is a file server and the main server is on SBS 2008.
Any ideas how I can get the server to boot completely. The users are able to use the server applications ok at the moment.
Before I rebooted the server the server failed to update the user policy when running gpupdate.
Solution: Windows Server 2008 stuck on “Please wait for the group policy client”
It seems the server was in the wrong ou. Moved it into the right ou and run a shutdown command from the SBS server. The server then started without the problem.
Thanks for the suggestions
