How To Uninstall A Windows Transformation Pack Skin

I have covered a number of Windows transformation packs to give Windows 7 and older Windows versions a unique look. While such transformation packs can be easily installed, it can be quite confusing to remove them. For this reason I often recommend users to create a system backup before their installation. In this post I will tell you how to uninstall a Windows transformation packs/skin pack, without restoring your old data from a system image. Using this method you can uninstall a number of transformation packs including the following:

Skin Packs

In order to remove a transformation pack, it is required to remove all its components. To get started, open Control Panel and go to Add or Remove Programs. Alternatively, open Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and click Ok.

Conrol Panel

Select each component of the Skin Pack in precise order to remove the transformation pack. Make sure that you always start with the main component such as “Android Skin Pack”. Uninstalling other items first may result in problems regarding the removal of the transformation pack. In other words, remove the item labeled as the skin pack name first, followed by other items (if any).

Also make sure that all items are checked for un-installation during each prompt. For example, the below screenshot shows that all Files, Extras and Backup Files have been selected for removal.

Uninstall Components

Before uninstallation, you may also be asked to remove other backup files of the skin pack. Click YES to avoid leaving any traces of the transformation pack.

Remove Backup files

Once uninstallation is complete, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Uninstall

The above mentioned process should help you easily remove a Windows transformation/skin pack without the hassle of resorting to a complete wipe and load installation or restoring files and folders from a system backup image.

Contact The Developer:

Most of the above mentioned skin packs have been developed by Hamed. If the above process does not work for you and you are trying to uninstall a skin pack by Hamed, then you can contact him directly via the links given below.

Other developers can be contacted from the website of the respective skin packs, which normally includes the developer’s contact information, or a devantArt profile of the developer.

    • You should either check for any remaining elements in add/remove programs or use the Windows 7 Start Orb Changer Tool. You might have to find a windows 7 start orb, save it on your hard drive and replace it with this tool. You can also try system restore, which may refresh old system files.

      • If it has an Uninstall.exe file, run it. Some skin packs might have been altered, so you can directly contact the developer if the above process does not work for you. I have added the developer’s contact details at the end of this post.

    • If the above instructions have failed for you, then contact the developer, you can see his contact details at the end of the post. You can also try repairing your operating system by booting from your Windows Installer DVD/USB. This will not remove your files but only repair system files. This is different from a wipe and load format.
